This is among my favorite videos to show friends and family when I talk about Thailand. Bugs tend to be a significant source of protein and many cultures outside of the US consider various bugs to be delicacies.
In Phitsanulok we went on a rickshaw tour around the town to the local night market where Mr. Louie invited us to try a platter of Thai delicacies.
I had the honor of being the camera girl for Pete’s Facebook Live this night. It’s a long video… but the first 10 minutes are well worth watching! And there’s some comical narrating.
The best part: Pete and a Gentleman from the UK fight over who gets to eat the 3-inch waterbug on the platter.
Surprisingly, the bamboo worms weren’t bad. They tasted like Fritos.
